Guarantee and directions for use

Footwear and leather accessories are guaranteed for one year.

The guarantee does not cover the sole of the shoe, nor leather’s normal wear, patination or damage from abuse of the product. The guarantee does not cover metal parts. The guarantee is valid if the product is sent to Atelier Pikitikki for repair, as listed in the price list, when a fault is noticed.

Shoes should not be dried by heat as that could cause the glued sole to come off. Shoes should not be placed near a heater or fire, as it could cause the pitched stitches to melt or come loose. Shoes should be dried in a location that is well ventilated with a steady temperature. The surface should be treated with properly colored conditioners.

The guarantee does not cover damage from the wrong  use of  products.

Leather should always be brushed clean if it is soiled. It can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. Beeswax products are not recommended, as they can leave a film on the surface that attracts dirt and grime, preventing the conditioning and moisturizing of the leather.

Other leather items should be cared for using the same conditioning products.

Leather is cared for using moisturizing conditioners and protected using protective products. For example, using Collinil creme on cleansed leather and Collonil wax as a protective layer. A spray protective layer can provide the final touch. Read more on the care of shoes and leather products.

Shoes should not be submerged in water or used in wet conditions. If shoes get wet, they should be dried in a well-ventilated location, at steady temperatures.

Leather footwear requires rest, giving it a chance to recover and dry out in peace. I recommend wooden shoe trees.

With proper care and maintenance leather products last for years and shoes will accompany you on your path through life. Send your shoes in for maintenance and care in time to Atelier Pikitikki, thereby ensuring a long life for your leather product.
