The supikas is a traditional, one sole slip-on shoe. They are made from two pieces of leather using a sharp awl and knife. Stitching is done using linen thread reinforced with pitch, or pitched thread (pikilanka). The needle is an authentic boar bristle attached to the pitched thread, used to sew the shoes by hand to exactly fit the client’s foot – complete to the upturned toe.
These slip on shoes, used with the traditional Karelia national costume, are made specifically according to your measurements. Why not use them for dress occasions or everyday use.
The supikas is made to order and the delivery time depends on the length of the order queue. From time to time some can be available directly from my shelves. Have a look and see if your size or color is available.
