PIEK means tip or peak in Dutch. PIEK and the Finnish word Pieksu are also phonetically close, pieksu being the general term for shoes with an upturned tip on the toe of the shoe. The artisanal shoes are made by hand in Finland, using accountable materials. Sustaining and using traditional handcraft methods when making these shoes is also an important aspect of accountability, maintaining and handing down traditonal techniques and methods to the next generation.

PIEK – footwear and leather artisanal products are designed to be used. They are functional and above all comfortable to use. The design of an artisanal product plays an important role in its life cycle. Simple models and lines are sustainable, despite the pressure of changing fashion trends.

Each pair of shoes is numbered in order of production.

Because one pair of hands works on these shoes, they are usually made to order. Delivery time depends on the number of orders in the queue and availability of materials. Accountability requires ordering materials according to demand, rather than keeing a large store. The queue tends to grow during the summer. A normal timeline for production is approximately 8 - 10 weeks.

When ordering, you pay a 40% down payment. This covers materials and reserves your place in the queue. You will be informed of the delivery time and the remaining 60% will be billed by email before shipping the finished product.
